Before
I had the amazing opportunity to work with Lillian Dryer, wife, mother, grandmother, and owner of Debbie Debeaux Satin Patch Sheets. Dryer decided to create Debbie Debeaux after her grandson was born. After realizing there were no quality sheets to protect her grandson's coils and curls, she created satin patch sheets for locking in moisture and preventing cradle cap. After over 3 years in business, Dryer has helped hundreds of babies protect their beautiful hair.

As the contracted Web designer, I worked on converting her website from a website with little personality, into a website that showcases her products as well as brings a level of sophistication that her intrigues her customers and their babies.
Design Process
I had the opportunity to work with Mike Black, The owner of Fade to Black. Mike Black is a husband, father, and immensely talented master barber from Minnesota. Mike created Fade to Black inc. to provide easier access to luxury products for all hair and skin types. With his handmade, all organic, and cruelty-free products, Mike has helped elevate men's hair and skin across the country.
As a freelance web designer, I developed low-fidelity wireframes and talked with my client about twice a week to go over the layout of the website, as well as discuss any changes he wanted to make to the website.
Product Information
Problem: After a successful launch, Mike was unable to see his customer's purchases in his email after they made their purchase.
Solution: After hours of consulting with Mike, I reached out to his preferred bank that we linked to the website and after reaching out to them, we realized that it was not a website issue, but rather a banking issue. The problem was then fixed after talking with the bank.
Problem & Solution
I began my design process by merging Mike's idea for his website with my knowledge of color theory. My client wanted a clean, prestigious, and sophisticated feel to his website that made his potential customers feel important. Mike wanted his customers to be able to remember his branding and purchase his products as soon as they view the website.
For Mike's website, we chose to go with a white and black theme to signify elegance, power, and cleanliness. By creating a CTA on the homepage allows for customers to immediately click the "Shop" button to immediately be transferred to all of Fade to Black inc.'s products. We finished the project in a matter of two weeks in order for Mike to be able to Launch on the day that he planned during our first design meeting.
To further enhance my skills as a web designer I decided to create a fitness apparel landing page. The inspiration for this landing page came from me not feeling any spark when visiting different fitness apparel websites while searching the internet. I had the idea to create a landing page that celebrated fitness beyond apparel, but also through fitness.
For this project, I first developed low-fidelity wireframe in my sketchbook showing how I wanted the layout of the landing page to flow from the heading, subheading, and social proof.
I began my design process by first taking out my sketch pad and created a low fidelity wireframe showcasing the flow of the landing page, where I was going to place the images as well as the different colors I wanted to use throughout the landing page.
After creating my low fidelity wireframe, I then searched Pixabay to find the right image that embodied the esthetic of what I was going for. I found an image of a woman looking like she was about to run. I loved the image because it was simple, clean, and easy to manipulate. After I found my image, I opened up Photoshop and began to edit the image. I first removed the background from the image in order to isolate the main subject. After isolating the subject, I added shadows and a blue background to give a 3D effect. Once the image was complete, I added the headline and subheadline and used a darker blue for visibility and display hierarchy. I then added testimonials to provide social proof and to make customers want to purchase from the website. In total it took me 48 hours to design this mockup landing page.
Design Process
I had the opportunity to strengthen my design skills by designing a homepage web design. I created this homepage design in Figma after drawing information from other ice cream shops in my area. After seeing so many ice cream shops not put much thought and creativity into their websites, I decided to create a vibrant, inclusive, and inviting website that captivates the user's attention.
Design Process
I started my design process by searching Dribble to find inspiration and merging it with my own creative ideas. I started by finding images on Pixabay that embodied the theme and style of the web page that I was looking for. I wanted to create a web design that was very creative and different from the competition. This project took a total of 72 hours to complete from adding the correct images, to coming up with memorable headers for each section of the web design.
